Broken front diff 2018

Are those AllPro sway bar links worth it?

 

None of my fins touch, close, but no touchy.

 

Yes, stock ones will bend. You can get everything online and build your own.

 

Same, I've had to replace a few axles from leaking boots but such is the price to pay when you weekend warrior regularly. Napa axles are cheap and you really only have to buy them once since they have lifetime warranties.

 

Real question is who installed this guys lift?
Might want to question that guy.

 

Why do people go spinning wheels in 4low anyways? Yeah, I over rocks and stuff, it’s people who like to that usually break stuff or end up going off where they didn’t want to go. No thanks, never broke an axle or CV joint before, even after thousands of off road miles.

So with the diff drop spacers I just put a jack under each side (one at a time) loosen bolt, take out spacer. Insert bolts and retorque to 90ft/lbs right?

 

Tie rod going in and out of the side of my friend’s V8. Drove it home that way, too!

 

Dont forget to check them again after a short drive. Also check all the bolts on the diff.. I've found mine loose after seeing a guys explode. Checked mind and it wasn't to spec. Tight. Just my 2 cents I now check after every oil change.

 

no need to jack up the truck, you can do it with the tires on the ground. Just do one bolt at a time, pull the bolt out and remove the spacer. Put the stock bolt back in (my diff drop kit came with longer bolts so I kept the old ones just in case I ever took it out).

I don't know if you can use the longer bolts without the spacer, might be able to or they might be too long.

 

Spec says 100ft/lbs

No warranty NP, just use this stuff. The way this stuff works is out of this world!

 

The axle broke because the CV locked up due to over extension. Not Toyotas fault. Sloppy installation of aftermarket parts are the culprit.
Note : After a lift of any kind you should let your suspension hang full droop on the lift and try to fully spin the front wheels if they lock up in any position that needs to be fixed, if not this is the result.

Seriously though, if you're going to pass your bad luck onto toyota dealership and they dont buy it, dont go around telling others and looking for sympathy... you're just going to make yourself look dumb.

 

Sounds like driveline wind up. Driving in 4lo all the time isn’t a good thing. Especially if traction isn’t a problem. At least from what the OP explained he makes it sound like he drove like that for awhile.
