I've been diagnosing my HVAC controls. Temp gauge moves freely. Cable inside behind control moves freely. Water valve cable in engine bay - cable moves freely. My vehicle temp is perfect at full operating temp. Rules out thermostat. I look under glove box and see arms that are supposed to move with temp nob. No movement here at all. I can grab and move by hand. In attached picture the small silver rod (closest) to firewall is broken off where it connects to the HVAC body. Shit..... How much of a pain is this to fix? My symptoms are I have only one temp. Manually moving arm under glove box gives me more adjustment.

I need more details. Is it just that the little bar is broken? You can buy a similar bar from a parts store and bend it to work with your setup, and you'll just need to add some clips and such to hold any springs in place that may be necessary. Or is it just missing a retaining clip that holds it in place?

At the end of that bar it looks like the tab broke off the main HVAC housing. I think I can get to it easy. It's just strange that when I turn the temp control from hot to cold those arms pictured do nothing at all. When manually move them it makes the temp button jiggle a little.i
