Local dealership quoted $1400 for OEM replacements.

For those who went for OEM or near-OEM ride height and performance, what options have some of you gone with, and total cost?

I’m happy with stock stance of my 4x4 access cab w/2.7 5 speed but any slight increase in load capacity would be welcome.

Aux back up lights, Bed lights, Re-located trailer plug, Good dooby, a.k.a. jumper cable mod, Heated seats, back up camera,
There was a recall/ tsb for cracking rear leaf springs. Not sure if it is for your model year though.

Find a set of take offs from a 3rd gen. Much cheaper than going to the dealer.

Thanks. Yeah it doesn’t look like my ‘12 falls into that TSB, it was the first thing I tried w/the dealer.

I’m not too well versed in leaf spring “upgrades” and don’t need to be since I am fine with stock/OEM stance and performance, but if anyone would like to recommend a particular brand/model that will be better quality (and lower $) than OEM but with c/o height/stance and be low-risk for uneven sag after install, I’d appreciate any input.

From what I’ve gleaned here, I should stay away from Dorman leaf springs.

Closest to OEM without OEM price would be General Spring. They make 2 versions for our trucks - 3 leaf standard and 4 leaf HD version. I bought the 3 leaf to keep stock height but regret it because they really aren't good for hauling. The HD's give you a couple inches but are supposedly better for carrying weight.

Good idea, I tried that last night and no dice. Unfortunately I want to be back on the road sooner than later (my only vehicle). :)

    What
Thanks. I see them for only $160 ea, not bad!

How about uneven ride height between passenger/driver side? Is that a recurring/random issue with any leaf spring replacement? Seems to be from what I’ve read.

You would want to replace both at the same time. Not just one

    Same crap everyone else got
Which leaf broke in your stock pack?
Find some off cl or fb. Call junk yards or pull a parts. My CL area has atleast 4 totaled tacoma's people parted out each week.
Where are you located? Get on the local forum and ask if anyone has their stock springs laying around to sell to you.
Installing them is easy. No way in hell I'd pay $1400 for stock leafs and install.

    You and me both.

I am near Western PA, and just made two posts in the Ohio and north eastern area. Thanks for the idea.
