Well I was putting new weather stripping on my camper top that I got and I thought I had cleared the windows when I put it on its side but it sat on one of the handles and the window shattered. I am wondering what my options are for getting a new piece of glass or a window. Any one done this and what was the cost to fix. Pretty frustrated with myself right now and don't have a fortune to spend on this camper top. I have searched several sites and haven't found any side window replacement options. Seems like everyone has to replace their rear windows. Thanks!

    1) Call a glass shop.
    2) Call a local dealer for that shell manufacturer.

You might be able to order that window from another brand shell - just need to find a dealer that's willing to help. I've broken them before as well, not hard to change out if you can find the right size.

pretty sure its just straight forward tempered glass so it should be any hardware store glass shop can cut you one, you don't need a factory glass shop

Thanks for the input. What does the whole side window typically run you to replace at a dealer? I wish it was super easy but it looks like the window frame is tack welded at the joints so I am not sure how id get the replacement glass in there because it also needs 2 holes cut for the handles since it is a flip up window

This is the side window that broke on the camper top.

I had the same issue with mine. Unbolted it and took it too a local glass shop and they put new glass in for about $130

Yes, it was Associated Glass. They had experience with this issue, my topper company was out of business

The windows are largely standard - there are only a handful of sizes and types - and are shared among different manufacturers. You should be able to do a search - follow it past the top hits and you will eventually find a parts company that sells complete window units (and maybe just window sections). Try RADCO to start?

Well I had a shop put in a plexi-glass window for now because it was really cheap but they ended up putting my handles on wrong and drilled the holes in the wrong spot and it cracked the glass when they tightened the handles so now I am on the search again. I have gotten 3 different quotes to replace with tempered dark grey glass and all were around $200 and I am just not about to spend that for a window in a camper top I spent $150 on. I'll probably find someone who will do a lexan replacement for me but not sure. Haven't been able to find a single online dealer that carries camper top windows.

H moulding from JC Whitney and tinted plexiglass. You lose the door but regain use of the top. I did it on a leer shell once that I needed done quickly.

I had bought the shell for $100 and wasn't going to spend a fortune on fixing it.

Looked at the specs on the H channel and traced the window cutout then subtracted the amount I needed for the moulding to go around the window. Popped right in and didn't have the first leak.

I lost rear window glass in my camper (probably rock from a lawn mower). Camper mfg was out of business, and I did not want to spend time and money for repair. Ended up with tinted lexan cut by Tap Plastic. The good thing it is strong and rock proof. It can be scratched easy but easy to polish too. I use microfiber cloth and Plexus. They make the airplane windows out of it, so it must work on camper shell too.
