My 2001 Taco is 4x4 and my drivers side spindle ring broke. :( The right one is still good. I'm currently looking for a used 01-04 4x4 spindle and knuckle. My mechanic quoted me a used one for both spindle and stock for $350. Is that a decent price for a used one?

I searched around toyotapartszone.com, toyotaoempartsworld.com toyotaofdallas.com and each of them returned around $350 for each for spindle and knuckle. That would come out to roughly $700 which I'm not willing to spend since labor is already costing me $300 from my mechanic. I've also called/looked into pickapart and craigslist and they come up with nothing. Does anyone else know anyplace or online to look for cheap used parts?

Also would it be better just to buy a beefed up spindle? Maybe a fabtech lift spindle for both sides? Saw one spindle on ebay for $386. Is the fabtech spindle even compatible with my 2.5 Donahoes? There's also the Solos buy they seem to be way to expensive for me at the moment.

I'm leaning towards installing the total chaos gussets if I do get another OEM spindle since they are only $37.80 just for peace of mind.

For some reason I cant get back on calminitruck all day, but I did get on for a little bit yesterday and I found two spindles. One from a 1997 4 runner with a grade of C so I guess its over 200,000 miles, will that even fit a tacoma?
