    Stay on your dealer and make sure they properly repair it. Hold them to the fire.

    Mine broke my intake manifold during the repair. I had to find it during pickup inspection and make them replace it.

    All said and done, I ended up with an 8 year platinum warranty.

    Problem is they use Japanese springs in these engines, which are know to be low quality. With the move to USA-made springs the problem will resolve almost immediately.

    Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    As I had posted earlier, I had a similar experience with my '89. It was a fluke. Don't let it throw ya. If it didn't damage the cylinder wall you're probably looking at a reasonably simple job assuming your dealer has a competent shop. Mine was done by an independent shop 'cuz it was outside of the warranty. Truck went on for well over 100K miles.

    FWIW my tundra 5.7 had 90k on it. Took it in for a rattling passenger bank and they found a fracture so they replaced all 16 exhaust valve springs
