    Hello all,

During my good Samaritan efforts to push an ice-covered tree off of I-205 this afternoon, I experienced a shattered passenger side flip out rear window on my '99 Tacoma (man I miss my winch). Anybody have replacement recommendations in the Portland area?

Also, my windshield wiper fluid reservoir needs replaced, has anybody here done this? And do you have recommendations where to buy my replacement?

Lastly, any air conditioning recommendations in the Portland area? I've never done anything with my dead air conditioner, but two weeks bowhunting the Oregon desert last September without AC just about did me in.

Thanks in advance to anybody willing to share some advice.

Not sure on the glass if that can be found on rockauto but the reservoir certainly can, id head there first! If you're not familiar with that site its a pretty good place for parts. Typically very good prices and in some cases they offer multiple choices of different brands and quality of the part you need which is unlike any parts store or any other website anywhere! Its not a hard job to replace, fairly straight forward once ya giver her a look over. Im no help with the AC...i cant stand being in or around portland so i avoid that area like the plague lol. I know i wouldn't be able to handle no AC though! When mine goes out im certainly gunna have to bite the bullet and get it fixed no matter the cost, which typically seems to be alot with AC stuff...

Thanks bry838, I will check out RockAuto. No AC out in Owyhee means you roll up the windows to keep from getting choked with dust.....but then you roast. My god on the last bowhunt the interior of my Tacoma resembled a Navajo sweat lodge.

How would you guys approach this? I got a dry-rotted and cracked reservoir but I have not tested or looked at the pump. I'm going to assume the pump is good and start with reservoir/grommet replacement.

You should be able to hear the pump trying to work when you turn it on in the cab. If it turns on when you do that, it's prolly good. If it doesn't you may want to check it out and verify it's actually bad before ordering.

thanks cruiserguy, just went out there (in the pouring rain) and had wife run pump while I had my ear above the reservoir. Not a peep. Think I will order a pump and it looks like their return policy is awesome if I don't need it. Great website.

Not sure if there is a relay, but if you see one (worth checking) feel or listen to if it clicks when you turn in the washer pump.

Make sure when you order to provide your VIN. The first washer reservoir I ordered had a large hole in the bottom of it, but looked identical otherwise. I'm not sure what it was for, but there are two different versions of the tanks.

I looked up the side window on that site and was surprised how inexpensive that flip-out glass was!

SparksParts is a great resource......and prices are excellent. Wow.

When you replaced your reservoir did you also replace your pump or was that still good?

My pump was still good, just the filler neck of the tank had disintegrated to the point that the fluid would slosh out. Also, if you order a tank, it comes with a new pump gasket.

that's exactly what I got, the neck is just cracked up
Last spring on a bear hunt I hit mayflies bigtime and my windshield was caked in bugs with no washer fluid. It's time to fix this. Thanks for your help
