I was wiring up my winch and noticed this. It appears to be a broken wire right in front of battery yet it almost seems like there is rubber blocking the black wire and maybe it came from the factory line this and is normal. See photo. Anyone else’s look like this?

There’s a thicker black wire above the red one. Just hoping someone else can look at theirs and confirm it’s the same.

Just like @whatstcp said. "One wire coming in, one wire coming out. Seems fine to me." If what you are seeing is supposed to go to the other open connector, there isn't anything on the other side.

I wasn’t terribly worried. Just a strange design, don’t you think?

It looks like the thicker black piece is either part of the loom or tape used on the end of the loom. But im looking at it on my phone and may not be seeing it clearly enough.

Sometimes it easier just to keep using what you already have (thicker loom) rather than changing things up for a small job.

I installed UCAs over the weekend and accidentally pulled/stretched that wire a bit and now it looks the same as yours.
I dont think it's an issue. If you find that somethings not working let me know cause I got a little paranoid I broke something, but everything seems to work just fine.

Mine looks much worse than your actually.
