    For a racing team it isn't unreasonable, though in a racing environment where you can normally keep the revs up, I'd want a turbo instead of supercharger.

    Yup. Unless it is a twin screw, it should have been a TRD Turbo. Even then, it still should have been a turbo.

    You really think TRD would make a turbo though?? They've been pretty set on their Supercharger ways since the early 90's. Damn near twenty years now they've favoured it.

    ^I think a supercharger is easier to install as an aftermarket kit, with no exhaust plumbing to deal with, so TRD favors it. For OEM designs, Toyota used sequential turbos in the Supra in 1993-1998.

    Subaru makes a factory turbo for the 86 engine... in the 2014 Forester 2.0XT :D Only 250 hp though.

    Welp, its been a rediculously long day filled with brainstorming. It occuref to me that on industrial scale, we preheat fuel going into boilers and turbines. So I looked up the concept for cars. Apparently people are preheating gasoline for increased efficiency too but the general consensus is that no one knows what temp to bring it to.

    The theory is twofold and seems sound:
    1)Raising the temperature of the gasoline fuel prior to ignition means less energy is required for pre-ignition of the fuel allowing for more energy to be used towards complete burning of the gasoline.
    2) Increasing the temperature of the fuel increases its volume but does not increase the fuels potential energy. So eventually you'll reach a point where the benefits start tapering off and you lose the added freedom.

    People seem to be doing this with various methods, wrapping a flex fuel line around the radiator outlet seems to be the prefferred method. This also would have the effect of stealing heat from your coolant, probably allowing your coolant system to run a whopping 1/5 of a degree cooler too. Haha.

    I know a boiler fuel equation I can apply to gasoline to find the perfect fuel injection temp. People are claiming 10-25% fuel economy increases. Wouldnt that be great haha.

    Obviously doing so irresponsibly has led to concerns of safety for fires and fuel leakage. I believe I can make these risks negligable.

    I'll crank out the numbers when i have some time.

    That is some interesting information there. I would have thought that cooler temps to decrease pre-ignition would be ideal. That is definitely something I may consider looking into. Oh by the way, I installed an Agency Power lightweight crank pulley two days ago. I'm liking the increased throttle response.

    Well I know from industrial, we even pre-heat air too.

    See, the air performance curve goes like this from cold to hot

    Thats why ambient is better for minor increase, but there is a point that if you were to preheat the air to before entry, it actually becomes MORE effecient then cold air. Its a weird U curve.

    If I think about it later at work I'll try to find the official combustion table for it.

    And the Agency pulley kicks ass :D

    Are the people that are heating the fuel, doing so for economy, or for maximum power?

    I would think that the most would be for efficiency. Not those looking for high hp.

    Its an eco thing, haha though I wish I had better access to a drop in dyno, hard to book appointments with my crazy schedule but the torque app generates hp #'s. Never trusted its accuracy but it still shows differences.

    Accident 5: May 8th/2013
    A semi tire exploded on the highway in front of me. Managed to avoid all of the tire shrapnel but one piece. Ripped a hole into the body kit, had to cut off the chunk with a knife.
