i believe same applies with this as with stock bc clearances are the same. if you want to run a wider tire then you might need different rims or you will rub the UCA

Oredered the Archive Garage shackle flip kit. I was stoked on the quality when it arrived...beefy. instalation was moderately difficult because i had to move it from the preferred position to the secondary one because the shackle was goin forward instead of back. Performance is great and got the 1.5 inches of lift needed when loaded. Just need a relocation and 14" king now!

Ya shocks stop them now and before. Needed a little more lift with the weights im moving camping but i also want to use the entire spring so a relocation and longer shock are in the future. Check out those archive garage shackles if ur needing more lift or droop.

Did you lose any uptravel with the shackle flip and SUA setup? I've got the flip kit and shock towers and need new leafs soon and was thinking of maybe doing the TC spring under with it

I'd like to confirm this as well. I did draw up the spring setup and it showed that with the spring compressed to flat, the axle would be close to the frame rail. I think the king bumps will likely be bottomed out before the spring reaches flat.
So I'm saying I don't think Joe is losing any uptravel. That is something often said about the shackle flip, is loss of uptravel with spring over axle, because the springs are flat from the factory. I think spring under conversion is a great direction on Tacoma and 1st gen Tundras

    Nice build man!

I've got a question about the frontrunner rack on your topper. I would like to do the same thing with my truck. On Frontrunners website they have two options for a canopy rack for the Tacoma, the only difference is one of them says Tall. I called frontrunner and they said the Tall one is the one to get to make it level with my frontrunner rack on cab, but I noticed on your build you had to get shorter feet for yours... Was hoping you could help point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Did you have to do a Cab Mount Chop to fit those tires?

No I didn't have to cab chop. Skinny tires and long travel.

The tall are what you need. Just line the tracks on the cap with the ones on the cap.

Thanks for the inspiration dude! I've had my truck since April but am just now getting around to starting to build it in earnest. I'm probably not going to go as fast as you, but I plan to have it totally built by next Summer for essentially the same reasons you outlined in your first post. I've got my shell on order and will probably at least have tires and suspension and sliders done by the beginning of ski season (October), then start armor and lighting shortly thereafter.

Wow that is an amazing build. I just picked up a 2017 TRD offroad short bed as well. I am coming from a 2012 trail edition 4 runner. I am pulling the trigger on suspension soon. Bumpers are already on order, CBI T3 front and rear. Obviously weight and tire size will affect how it performs. My question is how comfortable is this still doing long trips at high highway speeds. Can this still cruise at 70 to 75 without RPMs pegged out? Ive looked through many threads but haven't really found much on real world input from guys who actually have their trucks built and weighed down with camping gear, food, etc. Plenty of info on performance from guys with only a few mods. Im not expecting a built truck to be fast, however I am already committed and would like to know what to expect. Any input from others with real world experience would be welcome. Thanks in advance.

Great build man! Planning out my dream build now. How do you like the suspension on road?
