My truck has an obnoxious resonance at a certain rpm range when accelerating, I have checked every inch of metal under my taco and can not discern where this sound is coming from. I have about decided it is inside one of my cats. I bought this truck used and am quite certain the exhaust has been changed from the cat back, but I believe the factory cats are still in place and maybe even a couple after market cats have been added. I am assuming the large can just under the exhaust manifold is a cat, then it seems mine has another cat in the y pipe area. I am about to say screw it and buy headers and a whole new system. I would like to hear some thoughts on what this braaaap, could be, and how does no cats effect performance and engine codes. has anyone else gone down this path? Oh, 2007 4.0 DCSB 4x4. I just installed Dakar's and Radflo's last weekend and love them.

Shok Industries 2/0 big 4 upgrade and sound deadener.
New exhaust could definitely do it. Any chance you could get pictures for us, then someone could tell you for sure.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
i was looking forward to something about 2stroke toy..

I had a flowmaster on my 2008 when i bought it, and it did that. The baffle inside of the muffler had a weld rust loose. Luckily a rock tore the exhaust off so it got fixed :)

I think it may be a flowmaster on the truck now, this could be the source of the noise. should be easy enough to remove and find out. I will try to get picks this weekend. Thanks for the help and the link to the sensor simulator, if I do decide to modify, that little tip will save me tons of headache's! I wish it was a 2-stroke post, I havn't had a 2-stroke toy since I sold my Allison and I miss it dearly!
