Does anyone know about purchasing a bumper guard for a 2018 Tacoma that does not interfere with forward radar sensors?

OP @Fatboy1 I am sorry you have not hear from anyone. I just recently upgraded to a 2018 OR and I was wondering the same thing. I LOVE the Ranch Hand brush guard, but unfortunately, I believe the mesh in the middle of theirs and really most on the market will block the sensors inside of the Toyota emblem. Now, I theorize that the brush guards that do not have any mesh in the middle may be fine, but frankly I do not think they protect nearly as much nor look as good (which is important too). Ranch Hand does make a sensor friendly one I believe, but not for the Taco, YET! I am really hoping they will come out with one.

You may want to consider calling Ranch Hand (800-366-9712) in order to validate that the 2018 guard listed within the Ranch Hand catalog does not interfere with the grill sensor functionality.

Another reason there likely has not been any responses is the lack of interest in bull bars or brush guards from most folks around here.

Well, I think if you get the right one brush guards look great. I also disagree with them not being safe and think they offer better protection than stock, especially where I live where deer running across the road is common. One of my old trucks had it and it was useful for pushing small brush out of the way too when offroading.

I believe that the sensors are in the Toyota emblem and next to the rear view mirror. I don't believe there are any additional locations, but I could be wrong. I have gone through some of the manual but not gotten truly in-depth yet. I do believe the N-Fab bar you mentioned would work without blocking the sensors. However, it looks like the primary purpose for that one is a mounting point for a light bar rather than protection.

The problem with these on a taco is the bolts are up under the bumper and the strike point is up high. It is just physics as to why this will fail spectacularly. Minor brush? yes. Deer? NO WAY! The whole thing will cantilever into your entire front end amplifying the damage. I have yet to see one that has a secondary support to resolve this.

Sauce - I was looking for a pushbar and ran into this shortcoming. I am considering having one fabbed that includes secondary support using the frame support the lower grille led light bars use.

Thank you for pointing out this thread. I guess I missed it. I still need to get better with the search function on here.

Mine has a second attachment point at the top of the winch tray and ties back with 1/4 in plate to the top of my frame rails
