I just went from a 1st generation to a 2018 trd sport. I’m not looking for anything crazy or overly expensive right now, but I am thinking about adding a brush guard or bull bar to my truck. I am however, a bit worried it will mess with/inhibit/or otherwise make useless any of the front sensors. Can anyone confirm this?

Bull bars are not very popular on this forum but you do you. Personally I would spend a little more $ and get a steel bumper but to answer your question Go Rhino makes a couple that will not impede the TSS radar. upload_2020-1-22_6-44-38.png

What are you intending to use it for?

Thanks for the replies. I also just moved from San Diego to rural Northern California so even though I’m not doing any serious off roading I do occasionally drive out in the country and there are lots of deer that are stupid as shit and routinely walk out I front of moving vehicles (see the quote above of “ramming shit”- not intentionally but it could happen) So partially bc of that and I would rather replace and/or repaint a scratched up/dented bull bar or brush guard then fuck up my front end. I was thinking bull bars bc I thought it would be less likely to interfere with the front scanners? Edit: why does this sub not like bull bars?
Edit II: what steel bumper would you recommend and would that mess with the front sensors at all?
    Thank again

IMO bull bars do more damage than good during low speed accidents. A few body shop workers have stated this to me. I personally like the look and added protection of a steel bumper. Most fabricators will take into account the radar sensors. There are whole sections dedicated to bumpers and armor that have pics of all the different available options. I would search that forum and ask questions to members and vendors. As far as a recommendation, I have multiple brands of armor on my truck and they have all been outstanding. Southern Style Off-road, RCI , Mobtown, UpTOP. I would try to use a TW vendor that was local to avoid high shipping costs. Good luck with search and welcome to TacomaWorld

Westin HDX, brush/grillguard. No sensor issues. Good luck.

I think op might have TSS which will not work with this

Also, bullbars tend to rub and do damage to your paint.

Here in TX, there are a lot of "ranch hand" grille guards on trucks to protect against animal collisions.

Thanks that’s actually what I was originally thinking of but thought the full grill guard might impede the sensors/radar. Looks like several companies make ones that are compatible. Gracias

Arb summit bumper. Morimoto led headlights and new grill. Grill and lights have sequential turn signals.
20200120_163848.jpg Or go with a replacement bumper for the image.
    I put on a arb.
    Not cheap but impressive.
