    without going down a rabbit hole, wouldnt a front mounted winch act as a damage multiplier because of its need to be solidly mounted to the frame?

    There is obviously a big discrepancy in terms of quality. I can imagine those multi piece lighter weight ones causing issues. If I go with one it will definitely be a one piece solid. Currently looking at steelcraft and Westin. I’m not concerned with full bumpers or any of that other business.

    I hit a deer going around 40 in the corner and no damage to the car or brush guard. I have a feeling there would have been a lot of damage without it.
