Leave it on if you like the look or need the functionality.

As for others stating they don't stop anything, I have hit 3 deer with my Taco. The worst one was on a major 4 lane. I got it down from 70 to 55 when the anti-lock brakes released and plowed into the deer. It damaged the hood, grill, right headlight assembly, bumper, fender, and bent the heck out of my guard, but that was it. The body shop was amazed that the front radiator support was not bent. Had I not had the guard on, it would have totalled my truck.

I won't own another truck that doesn't have one. Bull bars are okay, but they just stop damage to the lower part of the front end.

I vote on just cause I have always loved the look of a truck with a brushguard or a bullguard on a truck

Thanks for all the replies guys....

Theres nothing more I want than a REAL bumper; ARB, Kennesaw, Allpro, the like, but just don't have enough extra dough to do it. I decided I liked the "look" of the westin brushguard so I put it back on (bought the truck with it on). Part of the reason I like it on is because I don't nessarily like the color of my truck, but with black accessories i think it looks a little better...?? I managed to switch the tow hook to the other side, and shift the brushguard so that I will at least be able to use the front hook for recovery. Am sure I will regret having it on one day(when I hit an elk or deer), but until then....she looks goooooooddddd!

I had one on my '99 for 8 years than all of sudden took it off for no reason. Liked it both ways but I didn't like the nose dive it created nor the extra weight. Looks badass on your truck though. Love the black and red.

i say on. ive had mine and have came in handy offroad and came close to hitting a deer would be better for the brushguard to take a hit instead of the entire front of you truck. may still cause a lil damage but the guard may save you some money. put some KCs on it and you love it.

Nice^. i have been having the same issue with off or on, got one for free (was on a guys truck that also hit a deer). It had a small bit of rust on it, I took it off yesterday and gave it a nice rattle-can job (nice for a rattlecan, prime, wetsand, flat black). and i have the same damn problem with the tow hook, but im going to put it on the other side of the bracket.

I did notice however that even though it only weighs 60 or 70 lbs, it helps the cv angles be a little more flat then with it off. also i work at a bar and live in an apartment complex, so my rational is that if someone backs into it lightly, hopefully it will hit the bar instead of the truck.

Post pics with the light bar !

I like it. I'd leave it on. I tend to "nudge" things like trash cans and stuff out of my way and it would protect stuff in those situations.
