I'm not complaining. I'm asking cause most people here seem to know and care.

I just put a K&N in it today. When I had my Nissan truck the K&N made fuel mileage worse (?) Not sure why. I have an automatic with the TRD exhaust. I am curious to see if letting it breathe a little more will help.

The K&N is going to make little to no difference to your mileage.

I just got my best mileage the last 2 tanks. 2012 TRD 4.0 DBLC with 20,000km. The last I went 601 km on exactly 70 litres. Previous I went 525 km on 63 litres. I run premium fuel and synthetic oil. This is a mixture of running around and hwy driving on both tanks. I can live with that. I get my premium for just a few cents more per litre than regular and it makes a difference, especially over the ethanol regular.

The TRD exhaust will look a little prettier and lighten you wallet but, unfortunately, that's all it will do for you.

When I had my DCLB I was getting 580 km on 60 litres(highway only). When I ran premium(city only) was getting just under 500 km instead of the 440 km I was getting with 87 octane.

With my Access Cab Long box I am getting around 440 km at 70L(City only). I was getting around 575 km(highway), also on 87 Octane(70L). I haven't ran 89 Octane in my access cab yet.

Some people say that running premium is better than running 87. Other peoples say 87 is better etc. Weather who you ask, it's what you prefer. It maybe worth it for your truck, it may not.

I get 16 mpg in mostly rush-hour driving, which matches the EPA city milage exactly. The few long trips I took (70 mph cruise control), I got 21 mpg.

Don't confuse city and highway milage. It's easier to get good highway milage with a tall 6th gear and cylinder deactivation. In the city, there's no hiding a 5500 lb weight of a full-size. If the OP is getting 16 mpg with the Taco, he'd be getting 14 mpg with a full-size V8.

I would love to get 16 mpg. I only get 12-14 mpg at the most.

Nope, neither intake or exhaust will help your mpg. Pretty simple, unless you are flooring it at high rpm you throttle plate is almost closed and a huge restriction relative to air cleaner. Same with exhaust, at part throttle the stock exhaust can flow all the engine is producing. Never has been true that tuning for more high rpm power means better mpg at low rpm when "not using it".

Expect 16-20 mpg depending on your driving conditions. Highway mpg will be slightly better. I used premium for a few thousand km, then switched back to regular. No difference. However, we don't have any ethanol in any grade here. That shit will kill your mileage in any vehicle.

I just filled my 2013 TRD Sport for the second time. I got 17 mpg on both tanks. I added TRD exhaust half way on the second tank and was romping on it quite a bit. Haha.

(I drive 45 - 60 min, in stop in go traffic to work; and 30 min cruising speed on the way home.)

I average 16-17 mpg around town. Lots of start and stop taking my kids to school in the morning and to work. My first road trip only yielded 11 mpg towing my pop up with a bike rack on the front of the trailer. it sits high enough that it's like towing a hardside camper. That and I was doing anywhere from 70-80 MPH. When I go up north unloaded I do expect to break 20 from what I am reading in this forum.

Just filled my 2013 DCSB V6 4x4 up for the second time. 17.3 mpg, probably 60/40 city/highway. Actually I am quite pleased. My old 3.0L V6 ranger got about 14 average. Thing couldnt stay under 3000.

I average 17mpg with my stock 4x2. Typical 50% city driving. Over the past year I have averaged about $3.50 per US gallon so about .21 cents per mile for me, and wish and would think these trucks could do better....but they dont :(
At least it does better than the truck I traded in- a quad cab SRT-10. Try 9mpg premium. That gets old fast when youre using it as your driver.
