Because they are an inexpensive easy way to lift your truck to a variety of heights. Foxs are much better than bilstein 5100's but they are also about 8 times the cost.

Ranchos are in a league of their own. The league of suck.

    funny but true.

When trying to achieve lift never, EVER go the cheap way out. I know that not everyone can afford ICON but thats not what Im saying. A lift is not something that you skimp on.

So what is the hate towards Rancho Shocks? They have some pretty cool looking setups, some pretty pricey as well.

I just dont think the quality is there.... they seem to be a budget shock, they arent adjustable, you cant re-build them. Just out of the three you quoted Fox is gonna be your best bet! I would be running fox if i didnt get a great deal on my Icons.

Having the ability to adjust them or rebuid them is importsant on our trucks? I can understand for towing and such and general ride. What is the quality of Icon?

The ability to rebuild is a pretty big deal for me, in my old truck i had a habbit of wearing out shocks. I just think its a nice to be able to pull them off and spend less than $100 bucks to get them rebuilt or just do it myself. The adjusted mine to where i felt comfortable and set it, i know people that have moved their settings a few times to get it to where they like it.

As for quality, I think you will get what you pay for Fox, Icon, and Kings they are all gonna run you over $1000 bucks but i have yet to really hear anything bad about them.... just alot of arguement over which is better.

I am really happy with my Icons, the ride is 100x's better than my spacer lift thats for sure. Ive had BS 5125 shocks on the rear of my truck, they have lasted quite awhile (for me) about 40k in 5 years... but as soon as they wear out ill be getting either Fox or Icons
