I have a 23 Tacoma and I'm in process of replacing factory rear bumper and the bumper does not have BSM cut outs. I know several forums have said you can just unplug/disconnect those sensors but my question is do you get any dash alerts once you do this or is it as simple as just disconnecting and no issues? If you get dash alert how easy has it been to get this reprogrammed by dealership to turn off?
I know I could go with one of the few bumpers that offers the cut outs for the BSM but trying to save on cost of bumper as well as I don't use the BSM and don't see a need to keep it turned on even if I had a bumper that accommodated them.

Hit the BSM button (off) in the truck and you should good to go without any issues.
