Plus they have a cleaning bay on site! If that’s an issue. It’s not like it was excessive amount of fecal.:. Just your average country load.

LOL. I hear you, but think of the tech. Anyone would be pissed at that.

Hell, I would have washed it all just to see if it started working again.

You might want to go look and see if they cleaned it all up. If it's still covered in horseshit, well...

No, I'm with you. The service advisor is definitely not treating you right. My truck had the left side bumper cap slightly bumped about two years ago, and I haven't had any issues at all with BSM. Clearly that scuff is not your issue.

You would be surprised at how much care a tech will give your vehicle when you bring it in clean. And I dont mean "I detail this baby ever day" clean, just "i maintain my shit" clean

This is a good point. I go over mine with a fine tooth comb before I bring it anywhere (dealership, tint shop, any other shop.)

When I took my truck in for the leaf spring recall the service manager called and asked why it was dripping blood out from the tailgate after it sat in the shop overnight to defrost.

Look man, I worked as a tech for a long time. I dont expect vehicles to be fine tooth comb clean. But when I pull your truck into my bay, and a McDonalds bag sticks my shoe getting out and dumps trash and half drank soda into my bay, I get annoyed. They I start to try and work on your vehicle and as I'm taking things apart its dumping dirt/mud(fucking horseshit??? Really dude???) all over my clean floor, I get pissed. Then when I return the vehicle to you, I get to hear how you tried to get free service because I left a clean hand print on your door. But if the vehicle was clean, there wouldn't be a hand print???? Hell yea I'm going to find what ever little scuff, scrape, knick I can to not have to warranty something.

If you can't make my job a little easier by not being a nasty ass, I'm going to go strictly by the book.

I understand that side of it, but I keep my vehicles in tip top shape most of the time anyways. I try to bring them in spot less so the tech knows how I take care of it. I used to be good friends with a guy who owned a stero/alarm/tint shop. I watched him many times working on cars and he never was as careful or gentle when the vehicle was obviously neglected from by the owner. In fact I watched him toss a radio bezel onto the hood of a 350z because it was plasti dipped and peeling and he said "if they don't care, neither do it." I probably have over reacted to that lol.

Too much care screams prick, and makes me not want to even touch the vehicle because no matter what I do, there will be a complaint. It's good to find a middle ground

I usually have some dirt and stuff in the all weather mats and things like that, I mean I use the thing every day.

But there are two things here.

#1 is doing the right thing for the tech who needs to work on your truck

#2 is doing the right thing for your truck. Caked on mud, manure, etc is a breeding ground for rust

Well they may think that of me... but I am pretty easy going unless something big were to happen.

I hate to sound like I'm defending a dealer here, but the bolded part of your comment doesn't make sense. A scuff marks is a sign of damage.

A scuff means nothing unless there is physical damage to the bumper or the BSM system. I really don't see how the dealer can deny warranty service if they can't show how the scuff caused damage to the BSM system. That would be my cornerstone argument with Corporate.

I am hoping that Toyota will switch the sensor to the taillight and we can get any rear bumper we want. I looked for aftermarket lights, but nothing.

And people wonder why we don’t want to make a bumper that is BSM compatible.
