I've seen a few posts about BSM issues but I don't think I've seen what I have going on. I'm not getting any check BSM messages on the dash screen but my BSM keeps clicking and both side view mirrors are showing a warning even while I'm sitting in my driveway...no cars around.

This started this past Monday, I don't recall hearing it before then, and when it happens, the light on the BSM button under the radio will flash as it's clicking (the click sounds like it's coming behind the driver's side back seat). And the one thing to note is that on Sunday, I did add on some AVS Low-Profile Ventvisors. I don't think that would have cause the issue but I thought I'd mention it in case someone else has experienced it.

Anyway, I have a service appointment scheduled for my 10k service and I'm going to have them look at this, but I wanted to throw my issue out there to see if the real experts has any thoughts.

    Thanks in advance.

No clue, but is a warranty issue and the dealer should hopefully get you all taken care of

The noise you are hearing must be coming from the "beeper" in the column to the left of the driver... that's where the Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) "beeper" thingy is supposed to be... I have never heard this thing as my BSM failed 9 months ago and I have never got it fixed yet...!!

Mine is being worked on as we speak...

No rain this week, there might have been some last week but it started this week.

Thanks, I have the appointment this week and am not worried about the cost because of the warranty...but was curious if there is something I might have done to cause it or can do myself to (inexpensively) fix it.

And a final thanks, it's more of a clip than a beep but your response reinforces that it's an important piece of information that I need to give the service department next week.

    I appreciate the quick responses.

So you're having a problem similar to what I described? Just started out of the blue for you too?

No, my issue was at about 2 months after I bot the truck, I was driving home on a snowy/shushy day...
I had never turned the BSM system on...EVER....
This day the light in the left mirror started to come on and off all by itself (BMS Not turned ON).... It did this intermittently for about 1 week.... If I turned the BSM ON, the right mirror light would come on for a few seconds and then go off like it is supposed to, but the left one did not light up.... No dash warning light.....

Next time I turned it on....there was no power to the switch, as it did not light up...!! DEAD as hell..
I think MY issue if different than most as a lot of guys have had the left sensor replaced to fix it.... Looks like I have a power issue as well..!

And magically my BSM started working this morning...the only thing I can think that I did differently, is I rolled down the windows. Seriously, I hadn't rolled down the windows since I installed the AVS vent visors but that's it. I already have the service appointment for my 10K, but it's working this morning.

While the BSM worked on my way to work on Monday, it started acting up on the way home. Again, windows down in the morning and it worked; up in the afternoon and it didn't work. I'm not saying the windows have anything to do with it but it's what I'll be playing with if I get the truck back without a confirmed repair. At least the dealership is able to duplicate the issue.

Dropped the truck off at Toyota yesterday and found that they're already working directly with Toyota to figure out the issue because they couldn't on their own. Keeping my truck an extra day at the moment to try to figure it out.

4 days without my truck, I'm thinking about stopping by a sporting goods store to buy a volleyball to keep me company. I think I'll name him Wilson. (Cast Away movie joke if you didn't get it).)

In all seriousness, they went through their initial troubleshooting, then troubleshooting with Toyota before ordering a part that was installed yesterday...which did not fix the issue. My understanding is that they're ordering a new computer or sensor now and I'm not sure if the part yesterday or the one they're working on cost $1000. Hopefully the new part will fix it and I'll get my truck back soon.

And I'll report the end result when/if it happens.

Today's update, the new part didn't work either but...they found a short in the line which is what I suggested to them when I took the truck in. Had to order a part for the short but it should be fix Tuesday after keeping my truck for another 3 days. Thankfully, I'm out of town for Labor Day but hopefully this is it.

Yeah, they apparently ordered a "wiring harness" for mine about 1 week ago... no response yet... I've heard of guys that have had an issue with the wiring harness connector by the driver's foot panel.. I think a bent pin in the connector or something like that..!

Got my truck back last night and found the passenger side isn't working on my first real drive this morning. The driver side is working correctly but the passenger side now doesn't light up no matter what...even when turning the BSM off and on. Another appointment scheduled for next week, they're hoping it's just something not connected completely correctly. I asked them if they even bothered to test it when they finished but I don't think they did.

11 days later...finally got my truck back from the second trip and the BSM seems to be working correctly now. Apparently, the LED in the passenger side went out after the repair. Everyone thought that was odd but it's working now.
