Just replaced the rear bumper end caps on my sport (PAINTED) with chrome end caps now my BSM do not work and I get message on dash BSM not available? Anyone else done this? Will they not work with chrome end caps? Thanks

Only thing I unplugged were the sensors that go through the bumper ends and yes I plugged them back in besides it's my understanding those are not for the BSM and are the parking assist.

You're the first person I've heard of that switched to chrome. Are they plastic plated chrome or metal?

Well shoot man. I guess my question is if Toyota sells the BSM option on chrome capped trim levels. I feel like the more tech savvy trims have painted rear bumpers.

Plastic chrome plating still utilizes a metallic coating. I’m assuming that is your problem. Toyota intentionally left off any metallic parts from that area of the bumper. That’s a highly sensitive component.

I tried the same thing, my wife liked the look of the chrome caps on our 2018 TRD Off Road. The BSM system will not work with the chrome caps only the painted ones.
