Anyone had their blind spot monitoring quit working?
I was driving down the road, randomly got a light on the dash and a warning came up saying "Blind spot monitoring unavailable".

Turned the truck and switch on and off several times, it's been 4 days now. I pressure washed the area of the rear bumper around the sensors, nothing. About to start pulling things apart to clean them thoroughly...

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what the fix was. Avoiding taking it to the dealer, I'm out of warranty.

My 16 OR started having same issue with BSM three days ago. Cycled power without improvement. I plan to dissect sensors this weekend.

Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? That seems to fix some random issues.

I had this issue after hitting some trails and surprisingly it fixed itself after going through the car wash.

Apparently they can sometimes recalibrate themselves if you drive around. Not always from what I’ve read, but sometimes you get lucky.

After getting a wash I drove around with that warning for maybe 30 minutes? I wasn’t very optimistic at the time but it did eventually start working again.

My suggestion would be to drive around for a while (if you haven’t already) and maybe you can avoid taking it apart.

Mine stopped working about a year ago so I turned it off. I don't miss it.

I'm going to try to find the TSB but if you can link to it you'd save me the trouble, please and thank you.

Mine randomly told me it needed service one day. However, after restarting the truck, it went away and hasn't come back in several months.

This is one reason why I didn’t go with this package

    Thanks for all the replies.
I did more searching after posting this thread. Found threads of people removing the bumper covers and cleaning the sensors, then driving around with BSM ON for a few days (I had been driving with it off because the warning and dash light are annoying).
I took my bumper covers off, went to move my truck to the hose and BSM was magically working...
I washed the sensors off anyways, although they didn't look that dirty. Put the bumper covers back on and everything seems to be working again.

If they turn off again, I plan to pressure wash the area without removing the covers and drive around with BSM on for a few days, but I hope the problem doesn't come back.

Quite a few things at this point..
Yes, it's happened a few times. You have to keep BSM on in order for it to reset/recalibrate. Do not turn it off despite how annoying it can be to keep clearing the error, it will eventually fix itself.
