BSM

I'm having a BSM monitor issue with my 2016 Tacoma. I have taken it back to the dealership 4x for this issue. This last time they said a 1/2" thick plastic bracket is cracked causing a 2° movement of the sensor when wind drag hits it just right. They stated The crack was caused by some sort of impact but the only time the bumper has been messed with is when I've taken it in for this issue and they remove the bumper. My bumper shows no signs of any impact i.e. cracks or scuffs because it's never been impacted. Toyota will not warranty the bracket because they said it didn't come from the factory like that. But how do they know that? I will now need to pay for repairs. Has anyone had this issue?

 

Just had my 2016 fixed as well. They never said it was cracked, they just replaced one of the sensors in the bumper. Passenger side I think. It didn't cost me anything as I am still in the 3/36000 warranty. There is a TSB on this as well.
