    hey guys,

I’m having this issue where I’m playing music through Bluetooth from my phone and when I plug it into usb to charge, the music cuts off. I’m sure this is a simple problem with a simple fix, any help?

    Thanks!

Plug it in before you start the music.

Is the USB a charge port, or a data link? So it thinks you are changing sources?

Charge it with the power outlet.

I have an iPhone 7+ and I have this issue too, and in fact had a similar issue in my last vehicle.

The only way I've found to get around it is to switch the source to XM or FM/AM or something, then back to bluetooth.

The radio automatically changes the source to USB when you plug the phone in while using bluetooth audio. You either plug in the phone before you get on the road or don't plug in the phone while driving.

Charge your phone from one of the 12v ports instead of the USB. It won't override your Bluetooth playing, and it charges way better. That USB port wasn't meant for charging anyway.
