Just in the last week or so the screen on my head unit (factory) has gone wonky when in back-up camera mode. I've attached a photo which doesn't really do the problem justice. (wish I could figure out how to upload iPhone video instead). Looks like something from the old Max Headroom show, lines in rapid motion across screen - dancing, blinking, etc. The image itself has also gotten really foggy.

Wondering where to start? Problem with head unit, camera or a connection somewhere?

I've got the "anytime camera mod". And also of note - the camera has always leaked water when it rains since truck was new... on the screen you can see the waves rolling around inside the lens.

My head unit isn’t OEM but the display does do that on very cold (-40 ) days. If you wait a moment it does clear up some. I located all the ground points & cleaned them up. Haven’t had it happen again since. I’d swap that leaking camera out for sure before it fails completely & if your lucks like mine it’ll short out the whole damn system when it goes. Can’t expect a reasonable fix without replacing failed parts.
