Hey guys like many of you I'm thinking of swapping my bench seats for some bucket seats. I was wondering what the cons were ? Will I not be able to adjust my seat in a certain direction? Will the height be off?

The biggest con is losing the middle seat and possibly the side airbags depending on what year RC you have.

    ^ what Depoxy said.

One thing I noticed was the passenger seat no having its full range of for-aft movement ability. And if you want to put it as far back as possible, then reclining is hampered. But to me it's a small price to pay for the individual seats. Would love a remedy to the wiring in order to get the passenger airbags to work.

Basically what he said and you have to grind down the seatbelt buckles or use the old receivers. I just ground mine down. I also wouldn't say I really gained much room, if any other than if someone else is driving my truck that is shorter than me (which is very rare)

I did today. Installed buckets from a 2014 to replace the bench on my 06 regular cab and I'm loving it so far. Took about 4 hours to complete.

So did you do anything about the air bags? Some have thought the truck computer would not allow start if air bags were disabled. So I assume yours are disabled correct?

My airbag connectors (on the passenger side) are not connected and I am driving just fine. The seatbelt light and airbag light are illuminated though, which is a little annoying.

Nope. Not disabled at all. Properly working. Had to remove whole wiring harness form the bench and put it back in the truck. Including the passenger seat sensor. Only ones disabled are the side airbags but that is only because my truck is an 06 and the seats are from a 2014.

The buckets do sit higher than the bench which I really like, the fact that the back rest is adjustable is also a + for me.

Will it work in the old buckle if it grinded and now smaller if you want to go back later

It won't be too loose. Also the buckle plug into the harness from the bench?
