Does anybody know whether it's possible to convert the old 60/40 split seat in my current rig to 2 bucket seats w/ a console between?

Welcome. It has been talked about but I can't remember anyone doing it. It requires quite a bit of work.

What year do you have? If it's a first genertation, 95.5-2004, then yes. you can put in buckets and a console from any year first gen. I put a set of 2004 buckets in my 1997 a few years ago, they bolted right in, no isues at all. The center console was a bit trickier, but not really a problem. You need to find the holes in the hump and cut out bit of carpet if I remember it correctly. You also might need to change out the seat belt recievers depending on what year seats you end up with. If you do this conversion, spray the seat bolts with wd-40 a few times before you try to remove them. A couple of mind broke and and I had to drill and tap.

Ok thanks, It's a '97 - I think it should be relatively easy. Now to track down a bucket seat.
