Just put some buckets in my 08 regular cab. Two problems. First, the seat belts don't fit into the new seats receiver. The metal is too wide to "clik it". Second, the passenger airbag sensor plug is different then the one on my bench, so it wont connect.

Im just wonder if anyone else has had this problem, and what they did to fix it.

im sure you can get the plug off of your old seats, strip some wires, and put it together.

I ground the edges of the buckle til it fit, and didn't worry about the air bag .

So I shaved the buckles down a bit and they fit perfectly. Im still working on figuring out the whole airbag wire set up

Where did you get your buckets? I cannot find any in the Seattle area. I'm considering getting rid of the truck because the bench is so uncomfortable. An Access cab will not fit in my garage. I'm willing to spend a couple grand getting buckets in this thing.

My preference is to retain the air bags. But that seems next to impossible for a reasonable price. I'm not ready to buy buckets from the dealer. I think 2009 regular cab 4x4 has buckets available in Canada. I could probably drive over the border and get them from a dealer if they weren't stupid expensive. That's what I meant by spending two grand to get factory buckets fully functional installed. Otherwise, I could get some comfy Lexus buckets installed if I don't want the air bags working. They are more readily available around here than Taco buckets! Frustrating.

lol the dealer wants $3500 each seat with airbags

the side seat airbags dont seem to do much. the pre 09 tacomas had just as good side impact rating without side airbags...

the side curtain airbags by the headliner are still intact and so are the front impact airbags

6" lift, front bumper, Oil cooler, HID lights, toyo m/t 33's.
Get new plugs or whole new seat belts. It will look cleaner with brand new ones juss saying and the wires you will have to take a look at the owners manual and manually connect them.

you need to transfer the whole bench seat airbag assembly to either your new seats or under the carpet or whatever to trick the system. I have a writeup somewhere. search.

Does the airbag removal change the seat's shape or comfort?

Took out the harness and airbag bladder. Took about 45 min. Has no effect on the bench seat functionality or comfort. Very easy. Ill keep the thread posted on installing all the parts on the buckets.

    not sure what you mean

09 and newer trucks have airbags in the seat. if you put older seats w/o bags you need to do some wiring. If you have an older one and put seats with bags in the just leave them disconnected no need to remove them
