According to the safety specs from the Toyota website it does:

And I recall seeing the little "SRS" tag on the sides of the seatbacks on my '09 reg cab (bench seat).

Seems like if the the sensor wiring for the 09-11 Access cab's buckets would work w/ existing regular cab wiring, you could install them in the 09-11 regular cab.....

IIRC, (from working in bodyweld during the Taco install in San Antonio) I think the reg cab that came originally with the bench seat will not have the proper reinforcement/mounting inner brackets (near the tunnel on both sides) for the buckets. In the older trucks they had all the appropriate weld-nuts and reinforcements in place for both bench and buckets. I swapped the bench for 4Runner buckets in my '88 and it was a direct bolt-in swap. I don't think that's the case with 2nd gen Tacos.

there are airbags in the seat. My 2010 had them right where the little tag is. they are designed to blow out through the seam in the fabric. In my sig there is a post on how to disable the side airbag when i installed my buckets.

When you take the seat out it's obvious where they are.

yes it is. the bolt holes are right there. 08 and prior reg cabs had an option for buckets and now the 11+ have a bucket option. all the holes/reinforcement are there under the carpet

So I want to do this in my 06, would anyone suggest just going to the junk yard and getting the bucket seats and center console out of a totaled extended cab...?

That would be the cheapest way to go... especially if you'll be putting covers on the seats.

Celica seats, Icon in rear and front with icon ucas, omd leaf springs, deckplate mod, lce header, Tundra brake swap.
You are correct ,I had custom brackets made to fit the beach seat bolt locations .The stock bench seat had to be tore down for the rails,it had some mold anyways. With said brackets was able to put Celica seats into my 1995 Tacoma .The old seat belts worked with the seats .Now just need a center console.
Anyone thinking of going from bench seat to buckets should do it. Your ass and back will thank you.
