Does anyone have pics of their WELD ON budbuilt traction bar? Im thinking of getting one for my truck to deal with the crazy axle wrap i have and would like to see what the weld on one looks like.

For half price, weld one on from Ruffstuff. I just did one for myself. Very happy with the results and I didn't loose any real ground clearance.

This one. I went with 5ft lower, 4ft upper and baby shackle. Mounted the front to the carrier bearing cross member, then braced the cross member from the front. I have and access cab and don't believe the 4ft lower version would work for that front mounting surface. My angles are almost perfect with the lower arm matching the drive shaft angle and the upper arm being rather parallel to the ground.

Its on the truck here and barely visible
    20170714_123752.jpg
This is how I mounted the front part, you can see the brace I added to the cross member for extra strength
    20170714_123854.jpg
rear mount, again, I wanted to keep it high to keep all my ground clearance
    20170709_205045.jpg
Off the truck cooling after I finished welding it. As you can see, its pretty beefy.

    20170710_210312.jpg
the view from the other side of the truck to prove its actually there.

    So to bump this thread.

I got my budbuilt weld on traction bar on the truck..... i honestly dont know if things changed in later years but man there was NO WAY you were getting things in place without hitting the stock muffler. I had to offset the top and mount it outside of the axle bracket further to the centerline of the axle, as well as do a bit of grinding on the shackle hanger / shackles themselves to get everything to clear and fit.

It has definietly helped the vibes, they are still there but subtle now, biggest thing now is that power is transferred to the ground, it will squeak the tires on a first gear downshift now and in the dirt axlewrap is gone, tires just spin!

Ill take some pics if i can but i gotta spend time to get driveline angles proper to try n get rid of the takeoff vibes.

Sorry to revive this thread. Will these traction bars inhibit a rear long travel setup? With say a spring under kit and up to 17" of travel.

It shouldn't if you set it up right. But with SUA you will have less axle wrap problems than SOA anyway. If it's still too much you probably should have linked the rear for long travel.

@nd4spdbh can you please post pics of your traction bar setup? I'm undecided between bud built and ruff stuff. Definitely not doing to bolt on crap tho!

I wonder if anybody has come up with a solution that not only keeps the axle from twisting but also keeps it centered under the truck for when playing in the dirt

A properly setup one shouldnt but with a SUA long travel setup, custom make your own cus you likely wont have the correct angles with anything prefabbed.

As a matter of fact i took a bunch of pics last night before I took off my budbuilt traction bar (was putting OME Dakar medium packs in) and the bar likely wont go back on, Yours for much cheaper than from budbuilt if you want! Ill post some pics a lil later.

And to your second statement.... its called a 4 link, either triangulated, or parallel with panhard.

Yeah I might take it off your hands! Shoot me some pics please. As for the 4 link, you're spot on but a proper 4 link set that ditches leaf spring all together is just overkill for my truck. It's not ever going to get long travel.
Have you seen the rear suspension design on the new ranger Raptor?

    Sounds good!

Yes, with coils, similar to 4Runner just more travel
