Now that it's street legal..........I had to get it off the road....ironic, huh?

Nothing extreme since I'm stock with street terrain tires, but my 1st time on a trail since I had the Tacoma. Amazingly the tires didn't lose traction at all in 4hi and 4lo in the rain.

Looking good Toy! I'm interested--we had originally looked for a 4-runner to work on but couldn't find one that hadn't been eaten by squirrels in our price range.

    Or eaten by rust.....

Honestly, I really wanted a 96 or newer so I would have the 3.4L v6 that I was familiar with, but I couldn't find any in my price range with less than 250k miles. I consider myself fortunate to have acquired this one in the condition it's in.

From what we saw--you are right about being fortunate! Rust was a major issue around here too. The one I was refering to was the worst though--squirrels had dropped walnuts all over it when he parked it under a walnut tree for the winter. It was dented and the windshield and sunroof were cracked all to hell. Mice had eaten the crap out of all the interior. It was rusty too, some fairly big holes in the fenders. He still wanted 1700 for it. That was like a year ago; I dunno it may still be for sale on Autotrader. Oh, and it wasn't driveable--no brakes. I don't know what people are thinking sometimes with their prices.

$1700 ....that's insane. This one was $2300 and I drove it 1 1/2 hours home. Also, it's a southern vehicle, so no rust.

I understand and respect the Toyota resale value, but I have my limits. Some people are out of their mind.
