I'm looking to get a load bar system on my shell but don't want waste money on something like yakima towers and bars. I know I could cobble something together much cheaper.

I'm hoping to keep the cost as low as I can hopefully help some other folks who search this thread in the future. I've seen guys on here build roof racks but I dont have the tools and work space to make it "from scratch" so I'm hoping to source low cost parts that will still make this easy to assemble without a home workshop.

So far here is what I've found:
(Using the yakima or thule tracks as a base)

Sherpa mounting feet, $90 a pair
    https://sherpaequipmentco.com/components/adjustable-track-mounting-feet

Aluminum cross bars from Tnutz.com, $21 ea
    https://www.tnutz.com/product/ex-10...tted-aluminum-extrusion-for-prinsu-roof-rack/

Does anyone know of lower cost mounting feet?

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Keep in mind your cap likely has limited load capacity on its roof. If you add weight to its roof, you should definitely consider installing bed side stiffeners.
Consider also - I have a Leer cap with rack on my '06 TRD OR. The load imposed on its roof from the rack increased the flexing where the roof meets the cap's side walls, resulting in cracking and ultimate peeling of the paint. Not very good looking today.

....yeah you can't just add a bunch of weight up there.
You'd need a canopy designed to have a load on-top of it.

    Either way, good luck!
