Sister came out and snapped a pic right at the fingers crossed moment. Was running the tap through. 90% of damage was to the plug instead of the housing. Was pretty stressed for awhile, but it worked out extreme best case scenario  Haha check out that "diff diaper", complete with Huggies box...

Rest of it was pretty much a breeze. Lovin the feel of 4.88s after a test drive! Just felt good to drive the truck, been parked for 8 days

4.88s installed at 77,400 miles. Only 496 miles left of break-in :pccoffee:. Stock, speedometer was about 3 mph under at 25mph, 6mph at 50, etc. Now it's WAY over. Gonna find a street radar and figure out new conversion. Guessing 5 over at 25, 10 at 50, etc.

Can't wait to go wheel this beast now. I'll prob do a Hollister shake down soon after my 500 mile break in, then Slick Rock is on for July 8, 9, 10th. Thread to come this week!

You can also download one of the free MPH apps on your phone and check it that way. They are pretty accurate.

    Did I hear slick rock?:headbang:

Thought my axle seals were leaking after gear swap. Looked a bit drier today. I was real careful with em and set drum and axles on jackstands so they never rested on the seal. Hit em with some brakleen and they cleaned up easy. Hoping it was just some residual oil on the mating surface that squeezed out. I'll pull the drums this weekend to check

    All cleaned up

And those are old paint marks from last time. Never mind the bottom that doesn't line up...

Should finish up 500 mile break in tomorrow. Wedding in Folsom sat, swap axle seals and gear oil Sunday, then it's ON! Prob do a hollister shake down run June 4th or 5th. Rest of my weekends are planned out for most of the summer. I have the last two weekends in July and August free. Prob gonna do either Deer Valley or Niagara Rim one of those free ones

Yeah it's light but there's a little seep. There was some dirt on top that fell in when I cracked it open. I blame that.

Shaffers is a cool shop! Mike the owner is great, everyone I've ever talked to there has been super cool
