I think it looks good. I installed mine on my brand new 2011 taco and no chipped paint yet. I also used two of the mylar strips instead of one, for extra protection against paint chips. If you place one it seems like its going to chip the paint but double it and its nice and thick with protection.

I've asked myself the same thing. I just got a Sport last month, and put a hood protector on. Some days I like it, some days I don't. I think it looks better on yours than it does mine...

IMO Bug deflectors are ugly and I don't thing anyone buys them for asthetic value. they are for some protection from small debris and keeps the windshield clean. They are purely functional. I certainly don't have one for the look. But I see bugs flying over the roof all day long. and no rock chips.

Like my brother says about bras, "you put something ugly on the vehicle to keep it from getting ugly" LOL

OF course with a hood scoop it kind of looks strange because it would actually prevent air from getting into the scoop (if the scoop were real) strange combo there.

i took mine off for a couple months and realized what a huge difference it had been making. my windshield gets plastered with bugs on the freeway without it. with it, clean glass. i think it looks sweet with or without it, but it really makes a huge difference functionally

oh but i did break the shit out of it 4-wheeling. they're not meant for off road use at all. i was just reversing on a trail and a flimsy little branch broke the left side off.

Yeah sue me..Tacoma hood scoops are an easy target. Like a bad wig....All in good fun.

If someone hates my truck or bike or whatever or disses it I am not bothered at all. I simply don't "personalize" these things as much as some people. I do things to my vehicles for me not for the general public to "approve of". Hell who puts a Toyota Emblem on a Yamaha and a Yamaha emblem on a Toyota? Me!!! :D:D

Plasti dipping your skid plate is not " personallizing it " ?

Seems a bit poser to me .

Personalizing as in taking insults fired at them PERSONALLY. I am personally not bothered by someone not liking any vehicle i own or what I do to it. ..Sure I make them mine. With things that suit me. Painting a skid plat back makes it "disappear". That was more my intent. Rather than remove it I painted it

And BTW I don't view posing as a bad thing. Put your truck in your sig and you are posing as in say "hey look at mine isn't it sick too?" Is that posing? I don't know. Don't care.

I voted no, only because I don't like the looks of them with the hood scoop. I just put the EGR Aeorwrap one on the front of my truck, and love the way it looks. It mounts under the hood, so it doesn't rub the paint (from what I can tell), and I have noticed zero vibration from it. I bought it from AutoAnything.

Try to get one tha doesn't ruin your hood. I took my Toyota one off today and my hood was wrecked where the mounts touch the hood itself. The dealer where I bought the truck is paying for the fix, luckily. Truck looks frickin sweet without that thing on it. I'll sell you one cheap if your still lookin, just kidding I smashed it in rage after I saw my hood.

I'm currently looking to put one of these on my 2011 AC Tacoma. I've always had them and personally like them as they've saved my hood in the past.
I hate the new OEM ones as they have the metal brackets and don't look right.
Could you guys give me a shout out on here for the different manufacturers that attach to the existing holes on the underside of the hood and are one piece, but don't require brackets or a seconadary attachment source??
