They pull like a goddamn skidoo on the snow. Beats the shit out of any AT or winter tire in snow. On ice...that's another matter. Go slow and easy.

1st gen as in it's made for the 2005-2011 tacomas but it doesn't have the fog light cut outs like the newer ones do.

Nope, but I still have to finish putting on my sliders and hooking the winch up to the battery and drilling the fairlead to mount on the ARB properly.

I'll get some pictures when it's all said and done.

Apparently she noticed it was a little harder to get into but thought it was her imagination.

She's currently aware of all mods done to the truck and those yet to come.

Installing a Superwinch control box with an ARB on a 2007 Tacoma.

I don't believe anyone has done this before, cause after many hours of searching the internet I found sweet fuck all.

First, remove the grill cause it won't fit other wise.

Place control box where you want it. I used the Superwinch Relocation kit ($50) for this. I placed it near the right headlight on the cross beam.

Dear All Pro, Relentless etc Owners...sorry...you'll have to find a bench or table to put your tools on. :p

Mark where the holes are. I used a red Sharpie for this.

Centre punch the middle of the marks so you won't have the drill go squirrely on you when you go to make the holes.

    Make it so.

Place and secure box. I'm thinking I might do something extra to hold the box because I don't want it vibrating every which way when I drive.

Hack a hole in your grill. If you're putting a winch on your truck chances are you've either A) banged the shit out of it already or B) you plan to, ergo this shouldn't be a problem. I used a hack saw and just broke the piece off and filed it down.

Reasonably sheltered from the elements while still being accessible in a pinch. Damn near looks factory if I do say so myself.

Don't forget to top up your transmission...

PS - Yes the winch works; yes I know the vertical rollers aren't on yet; no the truck didn't explode.

PPS - You just went back to check about the vertical rollers...sucker.

I am anything but. This is TW...what is supposed to happen and what actually happens are on opposite sides of the spectrum.

Cheers Mang. It was a real bitch to find a suitable place to mount the control box.

It was on a whim that I was like "Hey...you can go there you little fucker."

The only thing left to do is drill the vertical rollers, cause if I put them on and secure them with the snap ring, I'm going to have to destroy them if I want to replace them. So instead I want to drill them through the center of the top and put a cotter pin in them.

Took me 3 hours including taking apart the control box, rewiring it, putting it back together, dropping a screw down in the engine bay, taking off the skid plate to retrieve it, putting the skid plate back on, putting the boots on the incorrect wires, taking them off, putting the on the correct wires...

Congratulations. My 2 year old daughter can match names to pictures as well.

She doesn't take 13 minutes to do it though...
