I'm ordering my FIRST Tacoma today and couldn't be more excited. Glad to have found this forum, looks like it will be a constant source of good ideas.

The truck I'm getting is the 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 (White). The dealer says that the build date is 8/12 and it will be delivered to the dealer on 9/1. Is that to be believed? My local dealer said they take 45-90 days to deliver, and I'm wondering if what the this dealer is telling me is accurate.

    Thanks!

Congrats, you'll like it. I would, however, take any and everything the dealership tells you with a grain of salt.

That being said, enjoy your new ride!

Depends where it is getting delivered to (east coast or west coast, etc.) Sometimes they deliver within days to AZ and SoCal.

Last year the build dates got delayed. Where are you located? Depends on where your closest port of call is and whether a Mexico build or Texas build. Is it Access cab or Dual Cab? Typically 10-20 days from build date if they are on time.

Thanks everyone. This will be a double cab, and the dealer is located in Alabama. The dealer here (MS) told me originally 90 days if I wanted a 2017. I think they just wanted to sell their remaining 2016s, so I called a dealer in Alabama and they got me a 2017 cheaper than what I would have paid for a 2016 here (that was my second color choice anyway). Hopefully it all works out!

I believe is also depends if the truck they are selling you is already allocated to that dealership, if so they should have a very good idea of when it will be there, if not and they have to order it from toyota I would not put too much faith in their estimate.

Just checked one of the sheets they gave me. It says it is an allocated vehicle! Trying not to get my hopes up...we'll see!

Dealers should have their allocation and 90 days sounds about right if what you wanted was not on their current allocation. They have to put in a request then wait and see if it was accepted. So, it sounds like your truck will probably be from Texas. Vin should start with a 5.

So how often are requests denied by Toyota? My dealership said they are going to submit everything first part of next week and then if it's approved it will be about 4-6 weeks. Just wondering if its ever not approved.
