Why not get one ready for paint?
This one is functional ram air,..... nice. They do make non-functional as well.

This is just one site that carry's them...... I would look around before OEM parts and build then paint as it is time and money.
Just my thoughts, I would like to have a ram air intake option,.... or just block it off.

@EarthCruzn pretty snazzy....... But I've never really had good luck with fiberglass parts before unless it was OE. The fit is allllways "close" but not quite (I'm a sucker for panel fitment and clean gaps). Cool design on that hood though, semi functional intake and all, hadn't seen that.

Might be a nice fit, nice hood though.

My buddy has a hood with louvers similar to that and we always giggle at him when runs outside with aluminum foil every time it rains so his intake and doesn't get wet :rain:

I actually prefer the more sealed design of the OEM hood as I just got done Formula 3000 spraying my truck, and inside of the hood being one of those parts. So having the OEM hood be a bit more sealed off than a louvered hood is preferrable to me as I'm going to be filling it up with rust prevention.

IIRC in the mid 60's Chrysler/Plymouth did some testing with hood scoops and found that unless scoops were at the very leading edge of the hood and of at least a particular size (like 2" x 20", but I don't remember exactly) they did not capture a lot of air. Supposedly most of it traveled over the hood...

Sorry but every time I hear the comment (panties dropper) I just shake my head. It has to be one of the dumbest comments to use especially in relation to a hood scoop…

If she'll drop her panties for a ride in a Taco w/a hood scoop you should consider seeking out a different class or smarter woman. Be sure to check that it isn't a tranny...

Does anyone know if the sport hood scoop leaks in the rain?

Just a note for clarity that one scoop on one of the full size Cheby's is functional.

Why would that matter? It is right over the top side if the intake / valve covers. Everything is sealed and uses water tight connectors.
