    Mostly dust and dirt.
Seems that the Tacomas sold in North America are made in either two factories in Mexico or one in the United States.
Anyone know of any build quality differences between them?
So far my truck that was built in Guanajuato seems to be okay. Other than sometimes the doors need to be slammed to make them close completely.

The Texas ones smell like gun powder and bbq, or so I've heard.

The things I see most people in 3rd gen section talking about in regard to quality problems fall into either design or part supplier issues. Toyota uses global inspection standards applicable at all plants, so manufacturing quality should be very similar..

You can think of the Mexico plant in two ways, and they kind of balance out: they have all new equipment, probably with new technology; but, they have all new workers, so low experience with auto making. Texas, older equip, but more experience. Take you pick!

Baja has been producing Tacomas for many years....longer than Texas. And their facility is actually one of the least automated of all of Toyota's plants.

When did production start in Baja? Were all 2nd Gens made in California?

Later 2nd Gens shifted to Texas, Tesla bought the old plant in California.

I am going to guess California, it switched sometime after GM went bankrupt and killed Pontiac because it was a shared facility. Your door sticker should say also.

The plant was established in 2002. And no, Baja produced 2nd gens, along with NUMMI

NUMMI stopped producing Tacos somewhere around '09 or '10. I would have to check on that

The only reason I'm speculating is because the alarm has already been set, it's raining outside, and I'm about to hit the sack...

    Tomorrow it is!

Oh....I guess I didn't read that correctly. I was also unaware that plant was producing vehicles. Last I heard, production was scheduled to begin sometime in 2021

I really didn't know when they started either, but this article is dated Feb 7th and it says they officially started "last Thursday". Covid has them down, like every other Toyota NA plant, but all are supposed to restart 4/4.
