How it all started. This was my 1994 Toyota pickup manual tranny 4x4 22r (hence the username). It had 230k when I bought it in 2010. It leaked every fluid it had, smoked like Bob Marley, driver door didn't lock, burned more oil than a McDonald's restaurant. But it was my first Toyota and I loved ever bit of it. I blew the rear ended up had to get tons of replacement part. Left me stranded more than once but was still awesome. Never got stuck got my through the flagstaff winters time and time again. Sold it in 2013 with 275k on it for the same amount I bought it for $2800. Great truck when I was in college and I miss the heck out of it.

Now on to the new truck. IMG_0185.jpg
This is the day I bought my truck November 2016

Had 20k miles on her. Very clean. Purchased in Prescott AZ from a down to earth good dude.

    2014 tacoma sport 4x4 DCSB

Came with Bullet Proof Fabrication skid plate and Raptor Grille,OEM Running boards, KMC XD rocktar 2 wheels, toyo open country AT tires. IMG_0244.jpg
    IMG_0245.jpg
    IMG_0246.jpg IMG_0247.jpg

First thing I did was change the bed side decal and de badge the truck. I don't have pictures of the rebadging but you have all seen it so why beat a dead horse.

I put the American flag decals on because this is the greatest country there is and I am proud to be an American. Also I am trying to make my Japanese truck more comfortable.

    IMG_0255.jpgIMG_0257.jpg

First week I had my truck took my dog BANE (black German shepherd) too my parents house in Mohave Valley AZ.

it's about a 3 hour drive from Peoria. BANE PUKED IN MY TRUCK 3 times and I was not happy when I got to my destination.

I decided to go play in the mud. Pictures doesn't do it justice but it was covered and it was CLAY so it was a bitch to clean. Took about 4 hours to wash and wax the entire truck.

    IMG_0263.jpg

Got some weather tech mats in the entire truck. They in my opinion are the best all weather liner.

So I did this breather modification. Thanks to TW it was super easy and awesome. It breaths a little louder now on start up and shit down but I think it actually sounds cool and it is better than a $2000 valve job because that foam filter breaks.

Did the Secondary Air Pump Mod. The secondary air pump on 2012-2015 4.0L Tacomas pushes fresh air into the exhaust system through valves during cold starts to get the converters to heat up to operating temperature faster. On '13-and-up trucks it also blows for a few seconds at shutdown to avoid exhaust gas condensation on the valves, which can kill them. The 2012's (and V8 Tundras, but I don't know what years) have lots of issues with the valves failing due to condensation. This is bad as it puts the truck in limp mode and costs big bucks to replace the valves and get things back to normal. The only way to avoid it in the long run is to bypass the system completely, but that's a topic for another post. In 2013-and-up trucks like mine the main problem is the crappy foam air filter inside the pump housing, although this can also be a second problem in 2012s. When foam gets old, it crumbles, and pieces can fall into the impeller causing the motor to burn out. That also means limp mode when you least expect it, and well over a grand for a new pump. The fix is to remove the internal foam filter, and add an external filter to protect the pump instead.

UNI UP-107 filter from Amazon (about $13):
    [IMG]https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CJOTSA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    [IMG]

Here's the pump with it's snap-on shroud still in place. Pops right off - no screws or anything.

Here's the pump with the shroud removed. The center fastener is all that needs to come out in order to open up the pump. The mushroom-shaped air inlet "muffler" is going away, and will be replaced with the UNI filter.

The screw takes a T20 Torx bit.

Removing the top of the pump reveals the worlds cheapest piece of foam. This filter drys out then falls into the impeller. If that happens on the trail, you're fucked.

Remove the foam filter and mail it back to Toyota with a "thank you" letter.

Next you need to remove the factory inlet muffler. It has four tabs and probably could be removed without breaking it, but I busted two of the tabs in the process. It felt good.

Put the UNI filter on the inlet in place of the muffler.

    Put the pump back together.

With the shroud back in place everything looks stock. A little dust and grime and nobody will ever notice.

I also am keeping all my OEM parts just in case there is a recall and any mods I keep the stock parts so if insurance totals it I can get my stuff back.

SC1 is awesome for all of the plastic on the truck. It will look better than when it comes off of the show room. I used to use it on all of my bikes.

    IMG_0327.jpg IMG_0331.jpg IMG_0339.jpg

So these are the wheels that came on my truck. KMC ROCKSTAR 2. I hated these wheels I make fun of people that have them and of course the truck I buy came with them. Also I was on the hunt for a second gen super white double cab short bed sport 4x4 for a long long time. When I finally found it I was stoked I drove 100 miles just to buy it so the wheels could always be changed.

    IMG_0361.jpg

So I bought some method double standards because they are more my style and they look great. Also tough as hell but I wanted to look a little different than every ding dong with methods.

    IMG_0378.jpgIMG_0379.jpg

So I took these wheels to ALL Valley Powder coating in Phoenix. Surprisingly one of the only places in the valley that will two tone wheels because it's a pain in the ass. Anyways it came out pretty sick.

    IMG_0384.jpg

So I painted the bolts and washers to save some cash because a can of good paint was $6 bucks and it would have been 100 bucks just to powder coat the bolts. So cut a corner there.

    IMG_0380.jpg IMG_0383.jpg

Got them mounted but the bolts weren't dry so I had to wait 2 more days.

    IMG_0391.jpg IMG_0392.jpg IMG_0401.jpg IMG_0400.jpg IMG_0393.jpg

I love the way they turned out. I am super stoked one of a kind for sure. So if you see my cruising around let me know! Even tho I never really drive me truck because wife and I both have other cars I typically use this for truck stuff camping, off reading, hunting, hauling (nothing heavy) etc.

    IMG_0396.jpg
    Off screen image.

Trailer hitch cover. Got it off of ETSY for like 50 bucks it's powder coated steel really good quality. Punisher is cool symbolism. He was wronged and he does what ever it takes to make sure there is justice even if it is brutal.

You know I don't know what they call it. But it is just basically taking that shitty foam filter out and replacing it with a better quality filter. Cost like 10 bucks on Amazon it's just for peace of mind because if the foam filter gets sucked in which it will your screwed and it throws your truck into limp and costs about 2 grand to fix so. I will just spend ten bucks for the peace of mind.
