I'm failing to understand why Toyota Regional isn't involved with dealership admitting grievous fault...

    somebody’s got to!!

It honestly blows my mind that Toyota thought to themselves,
“What do we want to do with the next generation of our flagship pickup truck…… oh, I know what would make a super bad ass, do anything, go anywhere truck!!!….. Put a motor in it that hydrolocks on steep inclines….Brilliant!!!”
And then we can act like it’s everyone else’s fault when they come to us complaining about toasted motors….. We’ll give them the old “you were using the truck out of its normal parameters” spiel…..
Yeah….. thanks a lot fellas :brianr:

I bought the csf , afe and now the mishimoto , csf is by far the worst of the three . Afe using an fittings is nice but the mishimoto is just as nice .

Complained to the dealership where serviced, They said “we don’t think it’s our fault, but we’ll look into it”
They then pulled my Carfax report and said that I had gaps in my service record…..
I looked over the Carfax report and it has more holes in it than a log of Swiss cheese, lots of errors on the report that don’t match up with all of the service records I have on file (saved receipts)
The only oil changes I didn’t have done at that dealership were the oil changes in between when they couldn’t schedule me before the 10,000 mile interval.
Almost all of my oil changes were done between 5,000 and 10,000 miles routinely since I purchased the truck with only 5000 miles on it, and ALL scheduled Toyota maintenance was done at the same dealership

I then called Toyota corporate and expressed my grievances, they told me they would start a case and get a hold of the dealership & figure it out.
Got a call later that day that said
“your trucks out of warranty at 161,700 miles, If we put a motor in your truck with that amount of miles on it we would have to do it for everybody that blew up a motor out of warranty”
They also cited my Carfax history report…..
Even though they conveniently skipped over the part where it says “Carfax is only as accurate as the information that they’re given”
So I will end up paying for all of this motor on my dime and Probably end up in litigation after the fact……

Not only do I have their screwup in writing from the dealerships maintenance manager, I also have our whole conversation that I recorded….. Also with an admittance of guilt to filling the truck w/8 quarts.
I also have maintenance records to back up my side.
They even had the balls to say
“How do we know you didn’t put 2 extra quarts in the motor after it blew up?”
To which I also have a pretty prime rebuttal for

    Hallelujah!!!
I got at least one of my decisions right!
    lol
The lifetime warranty along with the craftsmanship is what sold me on the Mishi.

Carfax along with TruCoat (they put that on at the factory but I'll see what I can do) is one of the largest scams put upon the motoring public. I absolutely detest what it is, and what it's become. People treat it like the Holy Bible and when I come across those that do - I walk.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Alex Wilhelm has made mods to his 2gr-fe (has the same issue, present on hard right turns oil pressure can drop 20psi) but the fks would be a bit more difficult because of the starter location

I can only imagine the frustration; I'd be some fucking hot under the collar.
Good for you to have fun with it and build a cool custom rig.
    Looking forward to updates.

All/most parts bought & paid for, waiting on heads to come back from port & polish at the machine shop w/Lexus titanium valves being installed. Ripp coil packs, Supercharger, Oil catch can, Mishimoto radiator, And a few other upgrades thus far….. Trying to save up to get a URD performance exhaust installed as well.

I agree, we can be more creative. If anything he's a knuckle dragging troglodyte that only detracts from the human race.

    Alternatively, he's human refuse.

Not to derail the thread, but he himself did not do that. Someone in his group did as I recall. Obviously Im not in anyway defending the actions of that person, but he himself didnt do it.

Sorry to bump an old thread here, Recently purchased a '21 TRD OR with 14k miles.

Curious if there is an actual solution for the Oil into the PCV catastrophic failure situation. Catch can seems to be my only option.

    Thanks!
