I looked all over the Internet, trying to find a backseat extension platform for my access cab Tacoma that I could just buy from Walmart or Amazon but I had no luck so I ended up having to just build one.
I started with a piece of half-inch thick plywood, and I jigged around the console where it sticks into the backseat area.
Then needed to find something to fill the space in between the backseat and the back of the front seats to make the platform level. I ultimately ended up getting the perfect size containers from Walmart. I did not notice an actual namebrand they’re just called extra large Storage containers very basic, thin and light.
They actually ended up being the perfect size height and width.
I then gorilla glued a nonslip rubber pad on the top side of the plywood (a.k.a. yoga mat) and I used scissors to cut it to size.
After I got it all buttoned up and put into place I put the dog bed on top of the whole thing and everything worked great. My dog is very happy. He loves the extra space without sliding around.

    UPDATE 10/28/2023!!
I have now replaced the plastic containers under the platform with more sturdy one step metal step ladder. These are better fit and have anti skid material on top of step and is more perfect height, so now platform is on the need level and allows for open space under step stool to stow things!
    This is a better option.

Nice! you got the ramp too! Your dog looks very happy. I loved driving with my dog sticking his head upfront so he could feel like a part the group. My only wish is those back little door windows would go down or at least crack open. Nice platform!

Great looking dog, Robert. That mutt is well worth the effort.

    Thanks for the inspiration!
I have to rework our dog platform now that I see what has to be done. Try to update once getting it done.

    back to bone stock.
my dog is fine with just the seats flipped down. that gap doesnt seem to bother him at all, unless he drops his ball.

Keep access to at least one rear seatbelt receivers (female side) so you can plug in your doggo's restraint.

Also, turn those tubs right side up and use them! If you still want that wee bit of rubber cushion between them and the wood, just glue/staple it to the underside of the wood. Those tubs will work as great pull-out drawers.

I use two "We Recycle" tubs from work in the same spot. My dimensions are slightly different than yours though. (Mine is a Utility Access Cab.)
