Wow! You've put quite a bit of work into that manual, along with the YouTube videos.
Looks very straightforward, I didn't see anything that needed editing. Hope all your efforts are fruitful!

I am already planning on where to put it and have an Idea that I think would look good.

I was thinking right here vv

This should work for any vehicle though. Just need to put 12 volts to it. Mounting it is the part that will be unique really.

Hey guys, small update with a slight bummer: it looks like the compass isn't going to work with the sensor mounted right to the display. :( Last night was the first time I assembled everything the way it's going to be in the final packaging and I found that the display is giving off enough of a magnetic field to make the compass pretty useless. <sigh>

So now I have a decision to make:

    1) Redesign the hardware so the sensor is free of magnetic fields (going to take a lot of time and money for prototype boards)
    2) Just disable the compass completely and go with what I have now and attempt a redesign in the future
    3) Make it an option when purchasing: if you were to mount the sensor separate from the main display board you could get it far enough away that there wouldn't be that magnetic interference. Only for these folks would the compass menu item be available. I could leave the compass enabled in the menu for everyone but it's going to be very confusing for those folks who don't realize that it doesn't work when mounted to the board and will be freaking out when it shows nothing but N and W.

I'm leaning towards #2. I'm afraid #3 is going to be too much to keep track of as I have 6 different display colors and two copies of the code (one for LED screens, one for OLED) and adding an "enable compass" option doubles the amount of things I have to keep track of. :(

What do you guys think? Are you still in or is this thing useless to you now? :)

I vote #2. Just add compass in later when you can figure it out. a lot of the guys already have a compass either in their truck or on their smartphone.

Im still in. My radar detector has a compass and I have a double din that I can pull up a map with so no compass in your device is not a deal killer. I would say go with #2

I've never really felt the compass was super important in a vehicle anyway since you are basically confined to roads anyway instead of wandering through the forest.

I would go with option 2. Option 3 would be badass as I don't have a compass, but on the other hand, I just want an accurate pitch and roll reading that won't freak out on me or lack consistency like an app does.
