yeah, you would have to take off your weather stripping on the roof though. underneath it, there will be 8 holes i believe, all you'd have to de is make a set of "feet" and bolt them in the stock holes (which are already threaded btw)

edit: you actually don't have to remove the weatherstripping, jsut drill holes in it where the bolts will go.

it would be pretty hard to make feet for it..i wonder if they just sell something that would work for the feet (like not having to make it custom)

all you would have to do is tace some c-channel, maybe 2 inches per foot, and you can use two bolts to hold the foot tot he rack, and another two to hold the foot tot he roof. i can draw it up if you need a visual.

That is sweet!!! You have some major skill with that pipe bender. I've tried to bend pipe with one of these and I could never get the angles right. Did you have to do any welding where the pipe meets on the base?

thanks for all of the compliments fellas. i'd used a pipe bender before, but the angles never had to be exact since it was all for actual wireing purposes in a house. so it did take some patience with the pipe bender. it was always the second bend that was hard, because you had little to no pipe sticking out one end to get leverage on.

jerry, i wish i could do this for a living.....maybe some day, but for now i'm just trying to make it through college.....it's a full time job :/

i could have welded, but i chose to make every part bolt together separately, so if one piece ever gets damaged, it's very easy to just unbolt, make the replacement part, and bolt right back up.

That's cool, I have to admire a man who says "I want a light bar", buys a tube bender and a 12 pack, and makes it happen.

How did you make the base meet without welding?

I looked under my weather striping. And I didn't see any pre drilled hole..was it only on tacos with racks from the factory?

the holes are covered by a thin strip of foam that is adhered inside the channel. it's painted over from the factory, so it blends in with the rest of the truck pretty good. i can get some pictures of it if you want. i didn't ever have the factory roof rack btw, so they should be there somewhere on all doublecabs

about to scan that drawing for you, it'll be up soon
