Because I have a sunroof this is EXACTLY what I'm looking for (because of the open design in the center). Unfortunately because of work I'm not allotted much "do it yourself" time. How much $ would make it worth your while to take another 3 day weekend?

Chris, as much as i'd love to make more of these (you're not the only one who's asked) i unfortunately just don't have time between college and my job. in a year or two down the road however (maybe even over the summer) i'll see how my free time works out. until then, if you decide to give it a go for yourself, pm me and i'd be glad to walk you through how to make one.

Connor (is it "or" or "er"),
that's pretty sweet, i've never seen that version of the Carr, only the ones that hook inside your door seals. those ones that seem to bolt in under the rain gutter look very clean. i wonder how strong the mount is compared to the standard style.

glad i could make someone smile mr fast

very cool. keep us updated, I'd love to see how that attachment system works out if you decide to use it. if it's strong, i think that may be the way to go for the Carr product line. the door seal clamps are very strong, but Carr uses a thicker clamp arm to hook into it, which can wear on your seal over time. thule and yakima use much thinner steel, but strengthen it with in the metal vs just thicker metal. this keeps it from messing up the rubber/foam seals.

you still have to drill into the roof. It says drilling required in the description, however this are legitimate mounts so these are a better option.

Alright, I have come up with a solution. I am getting one of those cab gaurd/headache rack things, and I am going to mount it to the top of the cab rack, then maybe just some support on the front because the EMT isn't THAT strong.

    hah, i have too many.

thinks like a winch for my bumper i'll obviously have to buy. i'm also buying an IFS skid and sliders, but i plan on building the rest of the skids myself. also on the list is a sub, amp, and second battery behind the rear seats. i built my own speaker baffles about a year ago, and they've worked great, so i went ahead and drew up a bux that will house a 10inch sub, appropriate amp, and have a cutout at the bottom for a secondary battery......just have to find time now.

    i should start a build thread....i'm only 4 years late:rolleyes:

wow, old thread lol. things have come a long way since this.

i sold my thule setup to another member on here, and then overhauled the entire light rack for him. fully welded it, and added a floor.

    here's what it's turned into:

I've also build myself another rack, to work with the factory bold holes under the weather stripping

Well now that this thread is revived, any ideas on how this could work with an access cab somehow? Besides just drilling holes..

Thanks, i'd say i can build you one, but shipping would give you a heart attack.

unless the access cabs have similar threaded holes under the weather stripping too, you'll have to go thule/yakima, or drill holes for a custom one.
