I'm sure they are glad i noticed it now. It would suck to have to tear a bunch of stuff out to go back and do it right. It shouldn't be too bad to do it now.

Would not hurt I am sure.

Interesting to me that they put the header lintels at the top of the window RO's and frame above , I always put the header at the underside of the top plates and frame down to the RO

    Either way works structurally

i guess i've never seen it done the way you describe, but you're right, it would be structurally the same either way. I like the header directly above the window. It gives you something to screw into when mounting curtains for the wife.

I have seen it done both ways.

Most framers sheet the walls before standing them around here as well.

    Agreed

The only time we stick frame and sheet later is if we are framing onto the foundation and are shooting individual stud heights or perhaps the walls would be too heavy to raise by hand if sheeted but in that case I usually build them all and raise them with a crane truck

And if hte headers are directly above the window and not at the top of the wall and you have a point load from above then you have to add a post from the top of the wall to the header so you have more lumber to deal with.

    .
The first house that I ever built had the "wavy brick pattern" in the forms. The only problem was the forms had to be well lubricated or pieces of the brick (in the concrete wall) would come off (when pulling off the forms).

Personally, I like that form, it is great to leave natural or paint/stain ... but it was a little more difficult to mount firing strips on.

The old name for the forms was "Con-Tech" or something that sounded like that ...

PS ... Contractors that used that "brick patten" form tended to be the better contractors in the old days.

    No, they're double

Yeah it has been chilly. They didn't work 3 days last week because we got 6" of snow the it was a high of 5* the next two days.

What is the reasoning behind not sheeting the front wall ? Is there a stacked gable above ?

They haven't gotten to it yet, there is also a roof line that goes across the front below the big window.
