Hey everyone, this is my first and new post, and I was hoping to get some help from some more experience users. First off, I have a 2013 Prerunner, v6 AT double cab. I am looking to put a lift on it, and I have found the 6.5" CST suspension lift. A couple of questions for everyone that reads this and can give me some feedback:

Has anyone installed a CST suspension lift?

    How difficult was the install?

Anyone have any recommendations as to what I could add while I'm working under there?

I am looking to start reinforcing certain things to make the suspension and general parts stronger as a preventative measure prior to breaking anything. This truck is my daily driver so the stronger it is when I go out and rally it, I can make it home, and to work the next day. Any and all suggestions would be openly accepted thanks for the input.

Welcome to TW and merry Christmas. I would refer you to the 2nd gen section as you are posting in 3rd gen which is reserved for 2016+
I've never heard of a Cst lift, you're saying it's a 6.5" lift? You'll never make it home in one piece if you're trying to rally your truck. Anything past 3" will interfere with OEM dimensions thus making it that much more difficult to keep things in tact.

Edit: thread was moved to 2nd gen, that or I had bad eyesight at the time.

So i did some more research and it looks like its 3.5" spindles with a 3" spacer.

    thanks for the move.....
I am also looking to take a look at some prerunner builds, so the basic deal is, I live in northern CA so there isnt much desert to cross with a long travel kit, however I am right next to Hollister Hills so from what Ive seen a spindle lift is the way to go.

OP-general advice about installing a lift (or doing anything mechanical with your truck): if you have to ask how difficult something is to install, then it's probably a good idea to have a professional do the work.

Good luck with the lift though!

First off props to you for choosing a spindle lift

The cst kit you are referring to is fairly simple. Most difficult part is removing the wheel bearing and transferring everything over to the new spindle. If you dont have much experience with suspension components I would recommend a qualified shop for the install.

Also the lift of your truck all depends on the type of offroading you are looking to do. The basic cst 6.5" comes with blocks/aal and spacers to achieve the lift. If your looking to do fast pre running you'll find out soon that this isn't for you. You can easily upgrade to some coilovers & uca's and leaf pack along with some good shocks and you will have yourself a good MT setup that can handle much more abuse.

The longevity of all these components is yet again how well you maintain your rig..Best of luck!
