    Captain is correct.

    I only bought a single stone for the engagement ring. It was a quality stone, but I think it's only about 1 carat. It's "emerald cut" which gives it more surface area on the top so it looks bigger than other cuts of the same carat.

    For our 5 year anniversary, we went to jewler and she was able to design the ring she wanted and they drew up a CAD for her. Then they made the ring with two rows of pave diamonds with the original stone raised above it. The ring is all her design and it actually wasn't even that expensive.

    The center stone is 1carat? Thats pretty big for my standards. Mine is .86 - super nice quality-very very clear. The stone was around 2,800. The setting was about 1,300.

    I think that's about what I did. My dad had an old friend that is a jewler. He used to be a fire fighter but hurt his back on the job so now he sells shiny things. Anyways, he hooked me up with wholesale pricing. That helped a lot.
