Nice build! But I'm here for the airplane porn. :plane: I can't wait till I'm done flying pistons and get into the turbines.

Your truck reflects the state of mind that I hope every pilot has when I'm flying.

can you provide info on your lighting setup too? maybe a couple behind the scenes of how you did it?

How far along into your flying career are you? I don't blame you for wanting to move into something faster! I do miss flying tailwheel though.

Just curious, what state of mind is that? But I'm glad I have it!

For pretty much every photo of my truck, or something similar, I use very simple lighting. I do not use any strobes or lights at all. I wait for very soft and consistent lighting like open shade or right after the sun has set. My favorite lighting is when the sun is just below the horizon but the sunlight is still reflecting off the sky. It will create deep shadows, but the highlights will be very soft and its creates beautiful lines and shapes on metal. I definitely try to avoid direct sunlight if I am trying to make it look nice, even for my interior shots.
I also use photoshop to "shape" the light so the viewer focuses on what I want them to.

Ha thanks. Its sort of a requirement for pilots, but I really only have that trait in things I enjoy. :plane:

I'm 4 months in, currently have 550 hours. Right now I'm flight instructing. Haven't fully decided if the airlines are what I really want to do; Looking at a fractional ownership company that flies the PC-12 and will be getting the PC-24 in a couple years. Either way, getting paid to fly airplanes is pretty awesome.

Airlines versus corporate is a hard decision. Go with airlines if you want a schedule. Corporate is more fun and you can make more money sooner, the schedule or lack there of can be a challenge. The PC 24 looks like it will be a really cool airplane. p
Also, remember not to let your employer know you think it's fun to get paid to fly! That's part of the reason regional pilots are paid so poorly, but between you and me it is fun.

The nice thing I really like about that fractional ownership company is, they have an 8 on 6 off schedule. I think corporate flying would be more fun.

Been flying a lot lately so I haven't had time to do anything with the truck, let a lone even drive it.

From Indianapolis a couple of days ago.

Is that an ADF antenna I see? I thought those things have gone the way of the dinosaur.

Good eye. The plane is a 2008 so it was equipped with one, but we never use it.

I love them so far. They are pretty quiet at highway speeds which is what I was worried about. I haven't been able to take them off road yet. Hopefully I'll get up to the snow next month.

We added a CJ2+ to our fleet so I photographed it for the company. Had to bring the truck along for the photoshoot.
