FWIW, while your still building, if you can find some fork cap extensions and a 6mm shim for the rear shock the gixxer will finish turns quite a bit better. They seem to like a high ride height.

Gotta ask though, why did you get rid of the '06 R6 for a track-weapon?

I have a friend that works for racetech so I'm gettin all custom suspension. I'm probably going to sell all the stock shit. I got rid of the R6 because it was in mine and my ex's names and I cut all ties in that department. But really the only thing I didn't like about that bike was no steering stabilizer and I wanted to regear for better low and midrange power. It didn't hit powerband until like 10k rpms and that killed my launches lol.

Can't wait to see it done.I was going to convert my 06 gsxr 600 to a track only bike. Than reality hit when I saw how much money was needed to convert bike and the price of track days.

Even with the RaceTech valving and and rear shock, the bike still needs help with geometry.... On a '06 GSX-R600 with Penske internals (forks) and triple-clicker rear shock the bike would push wide from the apex. Raising the rear reduced it but altered the geometry to where the front would lose trail braking deep. By the time the chassis was sorted, the triples looked like cup-holders and the rear shock was extended 10mm from base line and a 6mm shim was added...then it got out of turns really well and it picked up 4 seconds around the track.

So far I havnt had one push on me that was setup well.... maybe depends on tires and track also...??? Our tracks out here are fairly flat and not too many off camber turns, so other than the occasional butt pucker moments, not a whole lot of issues.
