Great idea!! If I had to get a newer tacoma, that's exactly what I would do for my fur babies. That's one of the things I love about my '08 - the platform when the seats are folded down.

That looks great! My AC has the big stupid subwoofer between the seats.

I, too, have the subwoofer to work around but I can do a cutout for that.

OP, what did you do with the rear center console that rises higher than the seats. Is the top of the console your center mounting point for the platform?

correct, and the platform also rest on the plastic pieces that attach to where the seats fold up. It lines up perfect. Make sure to line the bottom of the platfrom with something to keep from scratching the center console (if you care)...I'll draw up a diagram tonight!

She is SO well behaved. I run her for about 1 hour in the morning (she plays frisbee like a pro) and another hour when I get home. They are such good dogs! BUT, she's gun shy and no goog at retrieving ducks! Maybe i'll get a lab too!

That's the trick - dogs need exercise, or they turn into little monsters :) My buddy had a border collie that used to jump his 6 ft fence to roam the neighborhood because he never made time to exercise her.

    So true.
My German Shepherds are the same way. Its like they are listening to every word you say, trying to pick out words they know.

    Anyhow, back on topic.

I actually did this same thing several months ago, and have used it on over 9000 miles of road trip literally packed to the ceiling with junk. It is a HUGE functional improvement for me over the factory configuration, but my design is a little different.

I have been planning to post it for a while, just have been lazy. I'll try and take some pictures.

Yours looks pretty nice, BlackSand, and yours still has the use of the back seats (mine does not).
